We're pretty sure that Samsung is stretching a bit on this one. The company has finally released a dock for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which will allow users to charge the device using the three-dot pogo pin connector. The dock also includes a 3.5mm audio port for listening to music (although it looks as though you'd need to bring your own speakers). The thing is that Samsung is charging $89.99 for the dock, which seems pretty crazy to us.
The selling points for the dock (according to the blurb on Samsung's product page) are that it is easier than "fumbling around with cords" and that charging via the pogo pins will make your device last longer by reducing "stress on the phone connector every time you plug in to charge". We're sure the pogo pins will reduce "stress on the phone connector", but is anyone having so much trouble "fumbling around with cords" to warrant a $90 dock?
It seems there are enough people stressed about that sort of thing, because by the time we finished writing this piece, the dock was already on back order from Samsung's site. Maybe we'll see it get to some other retailers soon enough with a bit of a price drop.
