Although we knew that this was bound to happen sooner than later, we now have solid proof that the Samsung Brightside will launch on Verizon. The phone, formerly known as the Samsung U380, will be available for purchase starting March 1, as indicated by the product's equipment guide, which a tipster of ours was kind enough to provide.
However, there isn't anything spectacular about the Samsung Brightside, despite its jolly moniker. It has a 3.1-inch touchscreen display of unknown resolution and a 4-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard. On its back resides a 3.2-megapixel camera, but an LED flash is, unfortunately, nowhere to be seen. The device also features a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack, microSD card slot for expanding its 256MB of built-in storage space, Bluetooth connectivity, and a built-in speakerphone.
Perhaps the only attractive feature of the Samsung U380 will be its price. Since it is nothing but a feature phone, the handset will likely be one of the more affordable on Verizon's lineup.
Thanks goes to our tipster!
