These are really sad times and before reporting further, we really hope this is all just rumor and that the report is false. But, we have been seeing some really credible reports that suggest that Apple chief Steve Jobs who is suffering from pancreatic cancer may have just six weeks to live! The photos published by the National Enquirer showed a frail and thin man that closely resembles Jobs, although the person’s identity is not confirmed.
Steve Jobs who took medical leave in January, had said in an email to employees, “At my request, the board of directors has granted me a medical leave of absence so I can focus on my health“.”I will continue as CEO and be involved in major strategic decisions for the company“. “I love Apple so much and hope to be back as soon as I can. In the meantime, my family and I would deeply appreciate respect for our privacy.“, he had added.
In the meantime, RadarOnline.com has confirmed Steve Jobs, 55, has been attending the Stanford Cancer Center in Palo Alto, California, where Swayze sought radical chemotherapy for pancreatic cancer before his death in September, 2009. The new photos show him looking painfully frail and weak, with his jeans and dark top hanging loosely on his six-feet-two-inches, frail body, the Daily Mail reported.
The Enquirer also quoted two doctors who claimed that the technology genius only has six weeks to live and that he is “losing his battle” against cancer. But these doctors have never personally met with Jobs and are making predictions completely based on the unverified photos. So, we only hope that these photos are fake and Steve ‘Apple’ Jobs is healthy and not terminally ill.
In another interesting twist of events, President Obama and enigmatic Jobs met yesterday in Silicon Valley, along with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Google CEO Eric Schmidt and other tech leaders to discuss the economy. Since Jobs was well enough to dine with the president, it makes the Enquirer’s claim that Jobs “is close to terminal” questionable.
The Apple CEO, who is worth $6 billion, is currently on his third medical leave, and has battled a rare form of pancreatic cancer for seven years and had a liver transplant in 2009. An Apple spokesman did not comment on the new photos. Jobs’s weight is said to have dropped from a pre-cancer 175 pounds to 130 pounds now!
This story, on the other hand, lacks any real authority. That doesn’t mean it’s not true, of course. But it does mean we can still hope, for the sake of Steve Jobs and his family — and potentially the future of Apple Inc. — that this is yet another rumor of poor taste, once again. Fingers crossed.
