Shazam has branched out from their music tagging roots, and you have no doubt seen the little Shazam logo in the bottom corner of a commercial by now. The developers of the popular tagging app have now revamped it with a new algorithm that promises to dramatically reduce tagging time. This means that the next time you catch the tail end of that song you've been trying to figure out you'll still have enough time to identify it, rather than have the DJ come in while Shazam is still listening and ruin it for you.
The Android app will be the first upgraded, and if your handset has NFC and Android 4.0 you'll now be able to share your Shazam results with Android Beam. These users can simply hold their device back-to-back with another NFC ICS phone to transfer tags. The upgrade is promised in the coming weeks, with other platforms to follow.
