Nokia Lumia 900 goes international, starts shipping in Q2

As previously rumored, the Nokia Lumia 900 will be released outside of the U.S. in the near future. The announcement was just made during the Nokia press conference at MWC 2012. In April, the Nokia Lumia 900 will launch in Canada through Rogers and will be more or less identical to the AT&T version, with LTE connectivity and all.

However, that will be just the beginning. An international Nokia Lumia 900 will also be made available in a number of markets. The device is quite similar to the AT&T model that we are well familiar with, but a significant difference is that the international Lumia 900 will sport a DS-HSPA radio instead of an LTE one. Other than that, the Windows Phone handset remains pretty much unchanged sporting a Snapdragon S4 1.4GHz processor, 4.3-inch WVGA ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1800 mAh battery, and polycarbonate unibody construction.

Also, the camera remains the same – 8-megapixel image sensor with Carl Zeiss optics and LED flash. As far as the front-facing camera is concerned, it comes with wide aperture optics for superior image capturing. And that should make a difference during video chats. Speaking of video conversations, it was announced that a beta version of Skype for Windows Phone is already available for download from the Windows Phone Marketplace. 

The international Nokia Lumia 900 model is expected to start shipping in Q2 of 2012 and will retail for about 480 Euro ($645).
