Pre-orders go live for the SIM-free version of the Motorola XOOM in the UK

Pre-orders go live for the SIM-free version of the Motorola XOOM in the UK
Continuing to spread Android’s tablet optimized platform, Verizon customers in the US are surely getting their fill with the Honeycomb packing Motorola XOOM. As much as they’re reaping all the benefits that come along with the new Android experience, other parts of the world continue to wait patiently for the day when the Motorola XOOM arrives.

Just one step closer in actually getting the highly prized tablet, pre-orders just went live in the UK through Carphone Warehouse for the version of the Motorola XOOM with 3G and Wi-Fi built in. In fact, this SIM-free version will soon be upon UK consumers, but you’ll have to shell out a staggering £599.99 ($970) for it. Nevertheless, Carphone Warehouse is making it very enticing indeed since they’re including a free charging dock with your pre-order.

Although the flood gates are now open for pre-orders, don’t expect to see them to actually come in stock until early April at the earliest. Still, it’s better to be safe in getting a pre-order now, than sorry later if supply somehow turns out to be on the low side.
