The music-oriented handset is alive and well in other parts of the globe, though, and we were tipped it's been spotted in Pakistan. It's taped all over, and the whole thing is obviously a prototype, so we don't know if it will be released at all now that Nokia has announced its partnership with Microsoft for Windows Phone.
However, if we go by the claim that Nokia India director made yesterday that the Finns will out 40-50 phones this year, of which 20 will be smartphones with Symbian, we'd be more inclined to think that Nokia X7 will be launched after all, it might just not appear on US carriers like AT&T.
Nokia India's director also mentioned that we can expect the first Nokia Windows Phones in about a year from now, but that's not anything we didn't know so far. It will be quite a miracle if Nokia and Microsoft manage to pull off a handset in time for the holidays.
Thanks for the tip, Aqib!
