HTC EVO View 4G may ship with Honeycomb after all

HTC EVO View 4G may ship with Honeycomb after all
When Dan Hesse, Sprint's chief executive officer, introduced the HTC EVO View 4G at CTIA, it was a bit underwhelming to see the 7-inch device running Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of the tablet-oriented 3.0 Honeycomb. However, an update to 3.0 was promised to be on the carrier's “to do” list, and judging by what we learned just now, it seems like HTC and Sprint are not going to let us down.

The EVO View 4G has just recently been spotted on Sprint's website with the anticipated Android 3.0 listed in its technical specifications. The post reassures our hopes that when the tablet launches this summer we will see Google's Honeycomb platform powering it topped with a pinch of a redesigned HTC Sense interface. Right now, the Motorola XOOM is the only device to have the privilege of running Android 3.0, but these days are seemingly coming to an end.

Feel free to check out our hands-on of the HTC EVO View 4G here.
