Although its off-contract cost of $499.99 still pales in comparison to the $429.99 cost with Sprint’s version, the new $199.99 on-contract pricing places it on the same level. It’s a welcomed new sight for Big Red since the Galaxy Tab was initially offered only for $599 with no contract required, but some might have been too scared off with its high price point – and it didn’t help when you couldn’t pick one up on-contract to reduce its price.
Regardless, it’s definitely nice to see it in a more comfortable range, and when you look at the $400 difference separating it with the Motorola XOOM’s contract price, some people just might favor it to save themselves the money – while still providing the core Android experience.
