Software update is coming to the Motorola CHARM, but don't expect Froyo

There’s no denying that some Motorola CHARM owners out there are bummed out by the fact that they’re simply going to be left behind and stuck with Android 2.1 Éclair, however, that doesn’t mean we won’t see any updates at all to this adorable Android smartphone.

In fact, Motorola is brewing up a software update that’s going to bring along some new features and improvements that should nonetheless appease most owners. So far, the software update appears to bring Wi-Fi calling, improve phone stability, include the SlackerRadio app, improved touchscreen response, better audio quality through its speakers, and some additional bug fixes and improvements. Despite being shunned from any newer Android versions, this might prove to be a decent parting gift for the Motorola CHARM.

Although no concrete time frame has been attached to the update’s release, it’s positioned to be released some time on or around March 11th – so be sure to keep an eye out for that notification to pop up.
