Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma had started his career with ‘Siva’ of Nagarjuna. The film brought name and fame to both the director and the hero. After bringing out some films in Telugu, he shifted his base to Mumbai and directed several Hindi films and some of them were big hits. He kept himself off from the Telugu film industry for several years, though some of his Hindi films were dubbed into Telugu. Recently, he returned to the Telugu film industry and made a film ‘Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju’ with Sunil as hero, which is a satire on the film-makers, directors, lyricists of the Telugu film industry. The film is slated for release on February 18. Very recently, he had announced several new projects. The latest buzz is that Varma is planning a film with political backdrop. Prakash Raj is most likely to play the lead role in this movie and ‘MLA Appalaraju’ is the title under consideration.
