Considering to switch to a carrier outside the big four? MetroPCS has just rolled out visual voice mail giving you a solid reason to consider the regional carrier, which was also the first one to launch an LTE network in the country. While customers on other carriers like AT&T have been enjoying the ability to visually browse voice mails with device like the iPhone, MetroPCS rolls the feature across a number of devices. It also provides users with Visual Voice Mail Plus – a feature which gives you text transcriptions of voice messages along with the option to answer back via an SMS, MMS and/or email as well as the standard call back.
Initially, MetroPCS' visual voice mail is available on the Samsung Galaxy Indulge, the LG Optimus M, the Huawei Ascend and the Huawei Ascend Sanctioned by TapouT. Support for the RIM Blackberry Curve 8530 and BREW-based handset is coming soon.
You have to sign up for plans starting at $45 for non-4G handsets and $50 for 4G handsets to be able to use the feature. Finally, Visual Voice Mail Plus runs at an additional $5 on top of each plan.
