With all of the recent news and video leaks about the Motorola DROID 3 including rumors of a July 7th launch on Verizon as we reported, you would expect the GSM version of the DROID 3, the Motorola Milestone 3, to make an appearance. Sure enough, Chinese site XDA.cn was able to get their hands on the model and put it through the Quadrant Benchmark test among other things.

A new version of Blur will be found on the Motorola Milestone 3

Like what we have been telling you about the Motorola DROID 3, the specs for the Milestone 3 include a 5 row slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard with a dedicated numeric row that eliminates having to press a numbers mode, a 4 inch qHD PenTile display to show off the pictures you just took with the 8MP rear camera (that also captures video at 1080p). The 1.3MP VGA front facing camera is perfect for self-portraits and video chats and under the hood is a dual-core 1GHz TI OMAP 4430. A new version of Blur is running on top of Android 2.3 but surprisingly, there is no bump in RAM from the Milestone 2 at 512MB, which could hold back the device. A 1500mAh battery powers up the Motorola Milestone 3. Both the Motorola  DROID 3 and Milestone 3 are sans LTE and 4G connectivity. Overall, the Motorola Milestone 3 scored a respectable if not earth shattering 1,910 on the Quadrant benchmark test.

The Motorola Milestone 3 and the Motorola DROID 3 are basically the same phone with a few internal tweaks here and there. The rumored early July launch of the DROID 3 will probably be followed through not too long afterward with the Milestone 3's overseas appearance. Those who have the original generation model of either handset will probably taking a good hard look at whether or not they want to upgrade to the newer version or pick up something a little more powerful and zippy like one of the new so-called "Superphones".
