Samsung hit by strong initial demand for the Galaxy S II in South Korea

A report claims that the initial demand for the Samsung Galaxy S II in the manufacturer's home country of South Korea has been nothing short of impressive.

The figures show that prior to the Samsung Galaxy S II launch in South Korea, Samsung has received no less than 200 000 pre-orders between last Monday and its D-Day on Friday, April 29, which, if we take into account that this country is home to some 48 million people, is a really good achievement.

As we noted in our article about the latest Samsung Galaxy S II ad, the Korean manufacturer is putting a lot of faith in its new flagship phone - the promos aside, the Samsung Galaxy S II is to be released in 120 countries.

Samsung stated that it aims to sell 10 million Galaxy S II units by the end of the year. It's yet unknown when this handset will hit shelves in the US.
