Granted that it might not stand out as heavily compared to the massive discounts associated with some of Amazon’s phone selection, activation fees are one of those hidden costs that consumers tend to forget about as they are overcome with excitement when buying a handset.
Fortunately though, the online retailer is offering activation-fee credits to those customers picking up handsets out of Verizon’s stable with new service. Essentially waiving the customary $35 activation fee, it’ll come in the form of a credit to your bill, which “may take up to several billing cycles.” Regardless of the wait, it’s a solid $35 in savings to your wallet – and can help just a little bit in the near term.
Aside from their competitively priced Verizon handsets, it’s just nice knowing there are still some additional savings that are outside the norm. From the looks of it, this limited time offering is going on until the end of May 5th.
