Negotiations between Nokia and Microsoft go well, a large number of WP Nokia phones coming in 2012

Negotiations between Nokia and Microsoft go well, a large number of WP Nokia phones coming in 2012
The announcement Nokia is to adopt Windows Phone as its primary smartphone strategy spawned an incalculable number of analysis, but after the dust settled it became clear there are some more negotiations to be done before the deal is officially sealed.

New Nokia CEO (and ex-Microsoft employee) Stephen Elop said in February that a few months are required before the deal is concluded. Now more details about these talks are available and it seems they are going just fine. In the words of Kai Oistamo, head of corporate development at Nokia:

"Negotiations have progressed very well. They will be concluded well on schedule."

It's reported that this will allow the Finnish giant to ship a large number of WP-powered Nokia handsets in 2012.

Previously, the Nokia CEO stated that some of the future WP phones will target the low-end segment of the market. However, it's speculated that we won't see any handsets manufactured by the Finnish giant with its principal smartphone OS in 2011.
