Basketball player thrown out of train, loses leg

Bareilly:  A 23-year-old woman, a national level basketball player, has lost her leg after she was pushed out of a train in Uttar Pradesh by three men who were trying to rob her.

Sonu Singh was headed to Delhi when a group of men tried to snatch her gold chain. When she fought back, they pushed her onto the track as the train was passing through Bareilly.

She is now in hospital.

The police have registered a case of attempt to murder but none of her attackers have been traced.
Sonu is a student at Awadh University.
