Older grandfathered AT&T unlimited data plan for the iPad will work with the iPad 2

Older grandfathered AT&T unlimited data plan for the iPad will work with the iPad 2
Great news for any of those AT&T customers who managed to snag the original unlimited data plan offered for the iPad when it was first released because it seems that you don’t have to switch if you intend on making the upgrade with the new model.

The original $30/month iPad data plan provided users the all-you-can-eat helping of surfing the web on the popular shiny tablet. However, with AT&T’s network being pushed to the limit, due partly by the bevy of connected smartphones out there, it was scrapped in favor of capped payment options.

So if you’re still spending time on your iPad browsing the web without the worry in the world as to how much data you’re consuming, you’ll be extremely glad to see you can do the same with the iPad 2. Come next week, you can go ahead and buy that new successor – while still roaming free without a cap in how much data you consume. It surely pays to have a grandfathered plan!
