EXIF data on photo links it to Samsung GT-I9500, possibly the Samsung Galaxy S III

EXIF data on photo links it to Samsung GT-I9500, possibly the Samsung Galaxy S III

The EXIF data from a sample photograph indicates that the snapshot could be from the unannounced Samsung Galaxy S III. Yesterday, some specs about the device were printed in  the Korean publication ETNews, including word that the phone will sport a quad-core processor. Samsung recently produced a short teaser video to whet everyone's appetite.

Was this snapped from a Samsung Galaxy S III?
Was this snapped from a Samsung Galaxy S III?

The picture allegedly snapped from the heavily anticipated phone shows some type of potted plant in an office environment. Some piece of electronics, possibly a television, displays a product information sticker with the Samsung logo and some written words in Korean. This is important because the EXIF data shows that the picture was snapped by the Samsung GT-I9500 and the photo links to Suwon, South Korea where Samsung has...you got it!...a large factory.

While EXIF data can be manipulated, the connection to the Samsung Galaxy S III works like this. The original Samsung Galaxy S has the model number of GT-I9000. The Samsung Galaxy S II is model GT-I9100 while the Samsung GALAXY Nexus is GT-I9250. Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S III could be the GT-I9500. In an interesting note, the same person taking this photo snapped a test shot for the Samsung Galaxy S II months before its release which makes us more likely to believe that the picture in question is from the Galaxy S III.
