Sports Tracker arrives on iOS, Android beta kicks off this week

Sports Tracker arrives on iOS, Android beta kicks off this week

Sports Tracker, the application which long was among the top reasons for sports enthusiasts and fitness buffs to get a Nokia handset, has finally arrived to iOS. Once faithful to Nokia and its Symbian platform, the developers behind Sports Tracker, which happen to be former Nokia employees, have switched focus in recent months as Espoo's platform was burning and now their work is finally available for Apple's platform. The price is set at zero dollars and pairing that with no ads and the rich functionality of the application translates into a must-have application.

But if you have an Android handset, you're not left behind either. You can sign up for testing of the beta version at the source link below, but even if you don't get early access, the arrival of the sports tracking utility for Google's platform should be sooner than ever.

How is this application different than other sports tracking utilities like Nike+ GPS? First of all, it's free and second of all it has plenty of tools for connecting with friends and getting social about your workout. For iOS, the developers have added a notification panel where you can view and answer related comments. You can also select an in-depth analysis of your workout giving you information about things like your energy consumption. Finally, you can propagate all of that to Facebook and Twitter. Excited? Feel free to also check out the video walkthrough below and follow the iTunes link to download the application.
