A leaked road map for T-Mobile reveals a wide variety of devices expected to be launched by the nation's fourth largest carrier for much of the second half of the year. First up is the HTC Sensation 4G. HTC's latest Sense 3.0 is on board and an active lock screen brings information to you without having to make even one click on the screen. A 1.2GHz dual-core processor powers the HTC Sensation which is expected to launch June 8th, as we reported.
Also on June 8th, T-Mobile has a pair of models also set to roll out. The Samsung Gravity Touch 2 and the Samsung Exhibit 4G. The latter is a mid-to upper range handset with Android 2.3 pre-installed on the device. Also on the 8th, T-Mobile will launch the Huawei E587 "Wayne" , a 42Mbps HSPA+ mobile hotspot.
A week later comes the Samsung t499 "Tass" which is essentially the Stateside version of the low-end Galaxy Mini, which is expected to be called the Samsung Galaxy Suit. Two weeks later, the Samsung t379 Triumph gets shoved out the door, most likely as the Gravity 4, a refresh of the Gravity 3 featurephone.
July starts out hot with the HTC Doubleshot coming out as the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. A 3.7 inch WVGA display, dual-core processor, 8MP camera and HSPA+ connectivity are the highlights here. Next comes a T-Mobile version of the HTC Wildfire S called the "Marvel". Despite the name, this is far from a super hero with a 3.2 inch screen and an 800MHz processor.
July 27th brings the BlackBerry Monza to T-Mobile. A full touchscreen device, this is not a warmed over Storm. The Monza offers a 3.7 inch touchscreen with resolution of 480 X 800 pixels. A 1.2 GHz single-core Snapdragon is under the hood and on the back is a 5MP camera that captures video at 720p. With 14.4Mbps HSPA connectivity and BlackBerry 7 OS installed, this is one of a few new models from RIM that could spark some fireworks for BlackBerry this year. RIM says that the new OS brings with it the industry's best browser and as we reported, the new software eats JavaScript instead of choking on it as it did in the past.
August features a few more hot BlackBerry models. The 17th should see the launch of the BlackBerry Bold Touch. With the same body size and QWERTY seen on the well-reviewed Bold 9000, and a 2.8 inch touchscreen, the Bold Touch brings the best of both worlds to 'Berry fans. 2 weeks later the BlackBerry Apollo gets released. This model is said to be a new version of the Curve with the traditional portrait QWERTY aboard.
The month also brings a tablet from Huawei, the S7, that is already available from Best Buy in a Wi-Fi only model. The T-Mobile variant should feature HSPA+ 4G connectivity.
September means Back to School and for T-Mobile it will mean the LG Flip II on September 15th. Actually, the Flip II name is a misnomer considering that there is no LG Flip to be replaced by the Flip II. The clamshell phone might replace the dLite which is the the carrier's most standout clamshell model. The Nokia Panda will be rolled out September 21st as the Nuron 4G. The Symbian 3.1 flavored model should be priced under $150 for a phone equipped with a 3.2 inch display, a resolution of 360 X 640 pixels and a 5MP camera without auto focus.
The Samsung Hercules gets launched on September 26th. This aptly named phone is similar to AT&T's Infuse 4G with a similar 4.5 inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen. Android 2.3 in on board the Hercules as opposed to the 2.2 build on the Infuse 4G. Furthermore, the 8MP camera captures HD video at 1080p on the Hercules vs. 720p on the Infuse 4G. Connectivity features Category 24 HSDPA (42Mbps) & Category 6 HSUPA (5.76Mbps) while a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor runs the show. We could see the Hercules priced at $350 or more with a 2 year contract.
Among the devices coming after September, T-Mobile customers can look forward to an update to the LG Optimus "T" called the LG Gelato Optimus II and the Samsung Jamong. The latter is a device for the budget conscious with a 1.3MP camera and a flip form factor.
Whew! T-Mobile customers with an upgrade to spare sure have a lot to think about. If you are currently with the carrier and are thinking about getting a new phone, which model would you be looking to buy? Let us know by dropping your answer in the comments box below.
