New Android smartphones stealing the spotlight

If you’re the owner of a Droid Incredible, don’t break it, lose it, or get it stolen, because chances are you won’t get your hands on another one, at least not from Asuirion.

The 1GHz processor, 8 megapixel camera smartphone is currently being sold on Amazon for 1 cent to make room for the Droid Incredible 2.
The new HTC handset was unleashed by Verizon on April 28 and features a 4 inch (800x480) display, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel forward-facing camera.
Those who are making claims for their Droid Incredible through Asurion are being given the Droid X as a replacement phone.

Prices lower for Sidekick 4G and G2X

A week after T-Mobile released the Sidekick 4G and G2x, the prices have been dropped. You can catch a deal on Amazon for the smartphones. Listed for $199 on T-Mobile’s website, Amazon is offering the phone for half of that, only $99. The Sidekick 4G is selling for $29 on Amazon, while T-Mobile lists it as $99. Both retailers require a new, two-year agreement for discounted prices on the handsets.

Something for the ladies

Rumor has it that HTC is creating a phone that’s strictly for the ladies. Sorry guys.
Codenamed ‘Bliss,’ the handset will be an Android-based phone—said to be a color-mix between forest and sea green for a calming effect–will contain physical and software tweaks that were designed especially with women in mind.
It’s said the smartphone will feature calorie-counting and shopping apps and a pre-installed calming wallpaper. And don’t forget the rubberized back for added grip.
Instead of a built-in LED light for notifications, the Bliss will come equipped with a "charm indicator," which lights up to notify users of new messages, missed calls, text messages and more—which looks more like an accessory. The charm is attached via a cord, which makes it easier for girls to dig it out their bags.
But nothing has been confirmed, so stay tuned.

Verizon strikes again

Verizon will be releasing three highly anticipated Android phones within the coming weeks. Both the Droid X2 and LG Revolution are both slated for a May 12 release, and the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY (often dubbed as the PlayStation Phone) is pegged for a May 26 arrival.
The DROID X2 is expected to be Verizon’s first dual-core Tegra 2 phone, while the LG Revolution, the successor to the DROID Charge, will be the first Android phone to launch with Netflix support.
Now, let’s see if those dates pan out.
