You’ve probably seen a lot of great hands-on and unboxing videos of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer minus the keyboard dock. Getting a hold of the whole package has been a challenge, but today we’re happy to be sharing our first impressions of this underdog Honeycomb tab with its Xoom beating price and cool keyboard dock that transforms the tablet into a netbook.

With a 10.1 inch display adopting the same IPS screen technology found in the iPad 2 and a high resolution of 800x1280 pixels, it’s safe to say the Asus Eee Pad transformer, with its Gorilla Glass screen jumps to the front of the queue as far as Honeycomb tab displays go.

Inside, you’ll also find a 1GHz dual core Tegra 2 processor and 1GB of RAM as well as a 16GB internal SSD. With a microSD card slot on the tablet and a standard SD card slot on the dock, this opens you up to a whopping 80GB of potential storage, impressive right? As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a miniHDMI on the unit, a proprietary charging port and on the keyboard dock, 2 USBs and another battery to keep you going for up to 16 hours.

There’s a lot more to be said about this cool tablet in the full review. Keep an eye on phoneArena, it should be up in the next couple of days.
